Select and cut an image from a transfer sheet. Leave a narrow border beyond the image. Roll a sheet of light colored clay through a medium to thin setting of your pasta machine and press it to a ceramic tile. Apply a very thin coat of Kato Clear Medium onto the image then press the image (face down) onto the sheet of clay. Burnish the image into the clay then cut the excess clay away with a Kato blade. Bake at 275 degrees F for 10 minutes. With sharp scissors, cut around the piece. This will make the removal of the paper easier. Drop the trimmed piece in water. After approximately 15 minutes, the paper will either have lifted from the clay (leaving the image on the clay) or can be removed by slowly peeling from a corner. Lightly rub the surface of the clay to remove any residual paper. When it is dry, it will have a light, chalky appearance. To restore the original brilliance, apply a light coat of Kato Clear Medium and bake the piece again for 10 minutes. The piece may now be trimmed with sharp scissors and set.
